The Fernsehturm (TV Tower) at Alexanderplatz in Berlin has a hight of 368 m and is the tallest building in Germany. It is one of Berlin's most famous landmarks.
A separate TV broadcasting system for East Berlin was a necessity during the years of division which was the reason for its building.
The tv tower is an extremely popular sight for tourists and Berliners alike with its observation deck at a height of 203 m and its Telecafé at a height of 207 m. The Telecafé, designed with an outer ring of revolving tables, serves coffee, snacks and reasonably priced meals while revolving once around its axis every 30 minutes.
On a bright day, this is the way to take in Berlin and surrounding Brandenburg from an eagle-eyed view.
